DLD School Assembly
Today we attended our school assembly hosted by Mrs Bogue, who spoke to us about why we were all dressed in yellow and purple 💛💜💛💜💛💜💛💜 Mrs Bogue explained that DLD is short for Developmental Language Disorder, she asked us all how we communicate with each other, with our teachers and and classroom assistants? we correctly answered that we talk to them and explain ourselves - but what if we couldn’t explain ourselves? How scared would we be? Would we be frustrated? Would it be very challenging? There is no escaping communication in all aspects of our lives we even had a demonstration from Mrs McConkey and some of our farming enthusiasts on how we use communication on our farms with the animals (which varied depending on where in Fermanagh or the surrounding areas you come from 🤣🤣🤣), which highlighted to us all with the right help and intervention people with DLD can thrive in school life and outside school we just need to find how to navigate to correctly communicate with each other.
All our teachers were delighted with our wonderful answers and understanding and well done Moat Primary for promoting this important disorder 💜💛💜💛💜💛💜💛💜
