P1 and the Queen's Platinum Jubilee
P1 had a wonderful day. It started with playing games with Mrs Irwin and Mrs McManus. Mrs McConkey then read a book about Queen Elizabeth 11. She explained to the children that Princess Elizabeth never expected to be Queen. When she was ten, her uncle, King Edward VIII, abdicated and everything changed… Her father took over as King, but after 15 years on the throne, he died. So when she was just 25 years old, Elizabeth was crowned Queen and has become the longest-serving monarch in British history.
The children then went outside and had a picnic. They were treated to special jubilee buns.
Then they played on the bouncy slide and obstacle course and spent their 20ps on all the treats on offer. Nails and faces were painted. They purchased teddies and bottles of different kinds. A petting farm even came to visit. Thank you to the PTFA a for all their help.
The kitchen provided a wonderful lunch in special Queen's Jubilee boxes. It tasted delicious. A big thank you to Georgina, Thelma and Alacoque.
A brilliant day - one that was enjoyed by all... 😀😃👏👑
