P2 Bushcraft Trip 🕷🐞🦋
We had the most AMAZING day at Oakwood Bushcraft Forest School. Firstly we got to design our own name tags on a little wooden disk. After we had our desired design we got to very carefully drill a hole in and feed a piece of string through to turn it into a necklace. We were then split into teams to embark on a treasure hunt to find pictures of minibeasts that had been hidden around the forest. It was very competitive with each team trying to find the most. After having our snack we got to search for real life minibeasts. We used special containers with magnifying glasses to properly see the animals we had caught. Using a proper booklet on minibeasts coupled with Tony’s knowledge we were able to indentify all the creatures we had found. When we came back from our lovely alfresco lunch we played two games that required teamwork. We impressed Tony with our excellent teamwork skills by working together in groups. Tony and Steve surprised us with marshmallows and biscuits. They showed us how to roast the marshmallows over a fire and place them between two chocolate biscuits to make S’mores 🍪 - they were absolutely delicious! As an extra treat before leaving we got to make popcorn over the fire using special appliance that resembled a sieve. We throughly enjoyed the day from start to finish, I know we will still be reeling in all the fantastic memories we have made for the weeks to come.
