P2 Erica’s Fairy Forest Adventure.

14th Sep 2023

This morning P2 embarked on Johnny's bus 🚌 which took us to Ericas’s Fairy Forest in Cootehill. We sang all the way there! On arrival we enjoyed our school snack which the kitchen staff had provided for us. At the entrance to the fairy forest, there were lovely signs carved out of wood. Mrs McConkey not missing a beat, had us all counting how many words? how many letters  and could we sound out the words? There were even a number of our new reading words on the signs...we were off to a great start!
On walking down the path to the entrance of the Fairy Forest, we were so excited to come upon a few characters that have been carved out of wood from the forest, Mickey Mouse, Mario and Luigi to name a few πŸ€—. Then we could see fabulous sparkling stones and we knew we had arrived. Mrs McConkey read to us the story of how the Fairies had landed in this wood and made it their home. Then it was time to explore the Forest, and wow...we were in for such a treat! There was so much to see and so much to do. We rode on a horse, sat on a wishing chair, played musical instruments, visited lots of the fairies houses. We looked high and we looked low for the promised treasure and only on our return journey did we see it twinkling on the steps of the fairy hotel.  this is the treasure we will receive in school from Mrs McConkey and Mrs Black for good behaviour and great school work. Our very own Treasure Fairy had left us a letter, and we were all sprinkled with fairy dust...we all have pocket fulls of treasure home with us...such excitement! We then headed back to Johnny's  bus 🚌 for more singing all the way back to school.

P2 is so much fun! The class all declared this was their BEST DAY EVER! They all had a great experience and learned so much. Thank you Mrs McConkey and Mrs Ebbitt for a wonderful day. 🧚🏼‍♀️
