P2 Fairy Forest Visit 🧚‍♀️

1st Oct 2024

We arrived in school on Monday, very excited about our exciting Erica’s Fairy Forest visit, would the fairies 🧚‍♀️ be waiting for us? Would we see their houses?
After roll call we popped on our wellies and boarded Johnny's bus 🚌. After singing lots of nursery rhymes and fun songs we  arrived at the actually fairy forest. We enjoyed our lovely snack prepared by the Moat Primary cooks in the forest school classroom. Mrs McConkey led the way into the forest. Even though we were out of school she still managed to fit in a literacy and numeracy lesson with the class. 🤣 Could anyone sound out the words on the signs? How many words are there? How many letters in each word? Oh the excitement was immense…down the track and around a corner and there it was the entrance to the Fairies 🧚‍♀️ forest. Some of our Mario fans were delighted to see the Mario brothers carved out of wood!

On entering through the sparkly, colourful entrance we were greeted by a story book telling us all about how the fairy forest had come into existence. We listened intently and then we got to explore the woods. We all had a go on ‘Acorn’ the unicorn.  We played musical instruments, we discovered lots of the fairies 🧚‍♀️ homes, there was even a fairy hotel! Oh how we wished we could fit in it! There was just so much to see and do! On our way back to the bus, we stopped off to have a chat about all the wonderful things we had seen, and to our surprise there was a letter surrounded by lots of jewels 💎. The letter was addressed to us, P2 oh we could hardly control our excitement! We gathered up all the jewels that the fairies had left for us. Mrs McConkey read the letter which was full of fairy dust! The jewels are to be given out for working hard at our school work and for showing our good manners in school. We all had a really great time on our trip, Thank you Mrs McConkey for organising such a fun filled class outing! 🤗
