P4 Planetarium trip.
P4 visited Armagh Planetarium on Friday. Our trip began with a visit to the Planetarium theatre. We enjoyed a show about life as an astronaut. First, we learnt about the training that you have to undertake to become an astronaut. Then we learnt about what life would be like in space and the jobs that the astronauts would carry out. We also learnt about the dangers involved in being an astronaut and the effects space can have on the astronauts body. We were then able to visit lots of the planets in the solar system. Our tour guide was very impressed with the children’s knowledge.
After the theatre we all got to make and launch our own rockets. This was the highlight of the day for the children. They loved seeing which rocket travelled the furthest. Finally we got to explore the many interning exhibits in the planetarium. The children were excited to dress up as astronauts. To finish of our day, we enjoyed a picnic lunch before travelling back to school.
